If one were to peer into the thought bubble of a right-wing talk show host while in the heat of an anti-immigrant rant one would see something truly hideous and subhuman. The form the immigrant in Glenn Beck’s mind would take would almost surely be faceless and disgusting, thus allowing him to subjugate and reduce them to a status lower than that of an American citizen. “New Americans” takes that process of dehumanization and turns it into a ridiculous hyperbole. Accompanying each immigrant-performing-job drawing is a yearbook style photo of a “pure” American who had their job “stolen” by the adjacent blob. Upon the repeated “theft” of each job the image of a severed eagle head is stamped to symbolize the god’s displeasure with such anti-American acts.
